MUSH YOUR OWN!Unlike most dogsledding outfits across the country, Base Camp Dogsledding, provides a "hands on" approach allowing you, the participant, the opportunity to drive your own team of our friendly and hard working Inuit Sled Dogs. You can become as involved with the experience as you choose, which also includes harnessing and caring for your team. All of our trips are customized to your wants, needs, and abilities. Base Camp Bigfork takes pride in sharing the winter landscape of Northwest Montana with others. We are here to enhance your appreciation for winter and the environment in which we travel.

Dogsledding 101:

For those with limited time or who just want a taste of dog sledding. This is a shortened version of our Half-Day Excursion. 1 1/2 - 2 hours which includes about 45-60 minutes of dog/sledding.

This option is perfect for learning the basics of dogsledding, tour of the dogyard, harnesss and even mush your own team of Inuit dogs on a variety of terrain. 9AM-1PM or 1PM-5PM.

Full-Day Adventure:
1-4 Participants

A full day of everything dogsledding. All that the half day adventure includes but more time out with your team. Full day adventures allow for getting further into the back-country and accessing a variety of epic locations to launch your trip from. A hearty fire side trail lunch is included. 9AM-5PM.

Day with the Dogs:

Group Rate $385 weekday

A great choice for larger groups of friends or families wanting to share a winter day together. Participants will take turns touring open terrain and trails by dogsled, while the rest of your party enjoys a cozy campfire, hot beverages, smores, and the chance to try cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Winter Camping by Dogteam:
1-4 Participants
For those seeking all that winter has to offer and the unforgettable memories that come with it. These trips cater to both the newbie as well as the seasoned winter adventurer. Choose from a simple overnight near our local trails or a multi-day journey deep in the back-country. Just as with our day trips, winter camping trips are custom to your needs and the level of comfort or adventure you seek. These trips include travel by dog team, opportunities for cross country skiing and snowshoeing, hearty fireside meals, and camp camaraderie. Family friendly. No gear or prior experience required.

Multi-Day with Lodging:

The full winter experience. Spend your nights in our cozy lodging and enjoy your days learning about the dogs and seeing the winter landscape by dogsled, cross country skis or snowshoes. Also near world class downhill skiing and snowboard resorts, Glacier National Park, and groomed cross country ski trails.
